A Pretty Background with Meaning

I've been trying to get a new background for a little while, but I am not electronically savy. With a little direction from my husband I figured out what really isn't supposed to be that difficult. Thanks honey. During my search for a new background I wanted to find something that would represent Jeremy & I, while not being very girly. Jeremy isn't incredibly fond of girly things. But in my search I found the background that is now gracing our blog and I could not turn it down. So the following explanation is for anyone who is curious, but mostly to explain to my husband why we don't have a background that is blue or green.

While Jeremy & I were dating, for Valentine's day he gave me the most beautiful arrangement of flowers. They were a peachy pink color that I grew to love. While we were deciding on our wedding colors I wanted that peachy pink color that is nearly impossible to find. We realized that burgandy is the perfect complement to peachy pink. So when I saw this background I thought of our wedding and subsequently my husband, Jeremy.

To conclude this post, honey, I'm sorry that our post is pink and burgandy, but I picked it because it reminds me of our love!

Disneyland

After we graduated, we decided that next we would go to...Disneyland!! Jeremy had never been there and I had only been there once when I was little. We figured that this would be the best opportunity to go and a great way to celebrate our graduation. Jeremy had a week off after graduation and before his summer semester started. And before this trip we had never just been on a big trip. All our trips had been to visit family, not that we don't love all our family, but sometimes it is nice to take a vacation just to take a vacation. We were able to do it because Disneyland has been offering lots of discounts because of the poor economic climate and we were able to find a really cheap hotel.
Our trip began the day after graduation when we headed to Vegas for the night. Jeremy had never been there either, but I'm such a wimp that I didn't want to drive down the strip. I promise you Jeremy, we will go to Vegas to be in Vegas. We found a great hotel there for cheap and enjoyed the break in driving.

Sunday we left for California. The drive was long and we have decided, we do not like California roads, and it really isn't very pretty to drive through. But our hotel was nice. Small, but perfect for us.

We had tickets to Disneyland for Monday through Friday. Every day we were exhausted by the time we got back to our hotel, but it was so worth it. It was hot and, in my opinion, crowded, but so much fun! Jeremy loved it. Our favorite ride was Indiana Jones, but the new Midway Mania ride at California Adventure was awesome too, the line was just horrendously long.

We greatly enjoyed the time to simply relax and spend with each other and did not want to come back to our real lives, but knew we had no other choice. Special thanks go to my mom and dad for helping make this trip possible. We love you so much and owe you even more!!

Our Graduation

Sorry for the delay, but I now have time to write about one of the exciting events that we've had recently. After many long years of hard work and dedication we have both graduated. I finished my degree in Nursing from Weber State and Jeremy graduated with his MBA from Utah State. Sadly, Jeremy has a short semester he's currently enduring that doesn't end until June 6th, but he was able to walk in May.

The events started with my WSU/USU Nursing program's graduation dinner on Thursday night, April 30th, that my parents were able to come up to. The food was pretty good and it was nice to have my parents there, but it was pretty lame. Sorry Mom and Dad that I made you come up when it was kind of a lame program. The one bright spot was being able to see my friends. I'm so grateful for my wonderful friends that have been such a support to me. You guys made bearable those long classes when I wanted to tell our teachers how ridiculous they and the whole program are.

The next morning we had to get up extremely early to be in Ogden by 7:30 for my Graduation from Weber State. I didn't think that I would be able to attend with Jeremy's graduation being on the same day, but I'm glad I was. I felt pretty ridiculous in royal purple, but it was worth it. I do have to admit that Weber's graduation ceremonies are better than Utah State's, but I can't really explain why. I especially want to say thank you to Josh and Ashlee, Jeremy's brother and sister-in-law, for coming with us so early in the morning, and my parents as well. It really meant a lot to have you guys there.

After the ceremony at Weber, we all traveled back up to Logan for Jeremy's graduation. It was so great to see him get hooded after all the hard work he had put in and is still putting in. We both highly recommend to anyone graduating from college to attend the graduation. That really is the only time you get to commemorate all your hard work. We are again so grateful to Josh and Ashlee for coming, but also Ashlee's parents who came up to see Jeremy graduate. They were kind enough to watch KayBree and Daimen, Josh and Ashlee's kids, so that Josh and Ashlee could come to my graduation so early in the morning. KayBree and Daimen were able to come to Jeremy's graduation too and were so well behaved. It was fun to have them there. Thanks Josh and Ashlee for sharing your kids with us.

After the ceremony and some picture taking outside, Jeremy and I, my parents, and my little sister went to Josh and Ashlee's for Lunch. Ashlee's parents and kids were also there. Ashlee made Jeremy's favorite meal, Navajo Tacos. They were delicious Ashlee, good work as always. It was so wonderful to simply hang out and talk. After all the hard work it took to get ready for graduation day it was nice to relax and take it easy.
We just want to express our appreciation to all of our family and friends that have helped us on our journey through school. It is hard to even comprehend that we are done and will be moving in just a couple short weeks. We are excited to move on with our lives, but sad to leave so much behind. Know that you all will be missed!

Good luck to all you still enduring school. I don't envy you at all!

Finally!!

I've been told for quite some time that I should start a blog, but I felt like our lives were too boring to write about. Who really wants to read a blog where we just complain about how much homework we have and how busy we are? Well, now that I'm done with school I can not complain about how much homework I have and focus on happier things. The last couple weeks have been exciting and I want to be able to share our lives with all the friends we will be leaving in Logan and all the family that is far away.
Now, don't get too excited. I don't have homework, but I'm still busy, so I can't post about the exciting activities we've been doing the past two weeks today, but keep posted. I'm determined to give this my best effort.
